Is Audio Golf just another tempo method, like a metronome or Tour Tempo?

Accepted Answer

No - and the difference is structural. Tempo systems keep the ratio between backswing and downswing consistent. Useful. But the same beat applies equally to a 20-foot putt or a 30-foot putt - you still have to figure out the backswing length and how hard to strike. That's three variables you're still managing yourself. An Audio Golf phrase encodes all three within the sound itself: how far back, how hard through, and the swing timing - already calibrated for that specific shot. A 20-foot phrase is different from a 30-foot phrase because the motion is different. This is one reason sound can influence movement in activities like walking, rowing, dancing, and rehabilitation training. Audio Golf applies that principle through phrases built around specific golf motions.Long answer:It has long been known that sound has a powerful influence on human movement. You’ve likely experienced this yourself: your foot starts tapping to a beat, or your body naturally picks up pace when an energetic song plays. These responses happen largely on a subconscious level. It turns out that golf swing motion can be influenced in a similar way. Of course, golf motions vary significantly. A 3-foot putt requires a very different movement than a 20-footer. A driver swing differs greatly from a short chip. To take full advantage of this sound-movement connection, each motion requires a specific sound pattern aligned with it. That’s exactly what Audio Golf provides. With Prof. Chou’s background in classical music we discovered that the most effective sound patterns for golf are syllable-based phrases that are based on music theory.
